Amethyst Falls solves the biggest problem with wisteria: it delivers the romance of the cascading purple flower display without the terrifying vigour of Chinese or Japanese varieties. Growing at roughly a third of their rate, it suits pergolas, fences, and smaller garden structures that would be overwhelmed by the Asian species. It flowers on new season growth, which means pruning in late winter actually encourages rather than reduces the flower display.
Ideal for pergolas, arbours, trellises, fences, and garden arches in smaller gardens where a manageable flowering climber is needed. Works well trained as a standard in a large pot on a courtyard or entertaining area. Suits cottage, Japanese, and contemporary garden designs.
